What you have to say:
We at Tight MotorSports have been using your Vehicle to PC program and it's like having a dyno right in the car. We were able to tune the cars in real-time, under all conditions. This is the best group of tools that one can have for their car, being able to tell if performance has changed and what adjustments will bring it back right while you drive. It is so repeatable that we will no longer spend time or money on a DYNO.

Q. What is this "In Car PC" thing I keep hearing about?
A. The EASE In Car PC is a software application designed for
Microsoft® Windows® that allows a user to view and interact with
many aspects of the vehicle via its OBD-II interface.
To read much more information on this, please check out the
In Car PC webpage.
Q. What operating system is required to run the In Car PC application?
A. In order to use the EASE In Car PC program, you must have
Microsoft® Windows® XP or Windows Vista®. For more information on
system requirements, please visit the PC Requirements page.
Q. What additional hardware is required to connect my PC to my vehicle?
A. You will need to purchase a small device from us called an
MDL (sometimes referred to as a "Mini-V").
This small and inexpensive piece of hardware can be purchased from this website
by visiting the In Car PC page.
Q. Is an Internet connection required to use the In Car PC software?
A. No. Because the EASE In Car PC application has all of the information
it needs built right into the software package, you will never need an Internet
connection to connect to your vehicle. Simply plug the
MDL device into your vehicle's
OBD-II port and launch the software. That's all there is to it!
Q. Will this run on my laptop?
A. Yes. The EASE In Car PC application will run on any computer
that has Microsoft® Windows® XP or Windows Vista® installed as the
operating system.
Q. Will this run on my existing in-car computer?
A. Yes, if your in-car computer has a monitor, or is a touchpad computer, and
has the proper operating system installed, with at least one free USB port.
. The EASE In Car PC application will run on any computer
that has Microsoft® Windows® XP or Windows Vista® installed as the
operating system.
Q. Can I run this on a Macintosh or Linux system?
A. At present, the answer is no. However, there are some tests being performed
in our engineering lab on Linux-based systems. Because of various key components
requiring attributes found only in the Microsoft® Windows® environment, it
is unlikely that a native port will be developed for users of other operating systems.
Q. Will it run on a monitor with a resolution of (800x600, 1024x768, etc.) DPI?
A. Yes. This was an important part of the graphical user interface (GUI) design
process. All versions of the EASE In Car PC software will automatically
resize to your display settings, regardless of monitor size or resolution, provided
your system matches at least the minimum PC requirements.
Q. In what languages is the In Car PC application currently available?
A. As of now, the only language in which the EASE In Car PC application
is available is English.
Q. Will I be eligible to receive support in the event that I have a problem?
A. Absolutely! While we don't foresee any problems with installation or usage
of the EASE In Car PC, we still have some of the best technical support
professionals available on-staff, ready to answer your questions.
Q. Is there a demo I can download?
A. Yes. While you won't be able to scan your vehicle without purchasing the
appropriate device and a software license from EASE, you can still download
the software as a demo to view the available screens and get comfortable with the
environment. To download a copy now, please visit the
Downloads Area.
Q. Can I buy this in my local auto parts store?
A. If your local store is an authorized EASE Diagnostics retailer or
reseller, the answer is yes. If not, you may want to encourage them to visit
this website to explore the possibilities. Then you'll be able to see, in person,
how our tools and software work in the real world, without having to purchase
the product first. In any case, if you don't have an EASE retailer
near you, you can still purchase the In Car PC software, hardware, and even entire
packages by visiting the In Car PC page.
Q. What vehicles are supported?
A. Any car or light truck with an OBD-II system is
supported by the EASE In Car PC application.
Q. What are the terms of shipping?
A. Shipping via UPS Ground to anywhere in the "lower 48" of the
United States and standard UPS insurance charges are included free on
orders over $100. On orders shipped to Hawaii, Alaska, or outside of
the United States, or if expedited or another shipping method is
required, the cost will be added to the invoice including a nominal
handling and packaging charge.
Q. What does OBD-II mean?
A. The term OBD-II is an acronym for On-Board Diagnostics
Generation II. This is a communications standard available on all
1996 and newer cars and light trucks. To learn more about OBD-II and its
predecessor, OBD, there's an excellent
WikiPedia article.
Q. Who develops the hardware and software?
A. All of the hardware and software is developed by the extremely talented and
highly-experienced Engineering staff at EASE Diagnostics, a United States corporation.
All of our products are developed in-house, then manufactured and tested by our in-house
Quality Assurance and Technical Support personnel. All products are vigorously tested
and re-tested to ensure nothing but the highest quality and reliability in vehicle
diagnostic equipment will hit the streets with our name on it. To learn more about
EASE Diagnostics, please visit our main website at www.obd2.com.
Q. What if I want to sell EASE products myself?
A. Then we would welcome you as a reseller! In fact, our reseller program is
one of the best available, not just in our industry, but in sales in general. The
application process is extremely simple, the buy-in is very low (only two items),
the support and brand name are already established as leaders in the industry, and
the market is still virtually untapped! If you or someone you know is interested
in becoming an EASE reseller, please visit our reseller information area.
And something else to keep in mind: if you're looking for a gift for someone
who wants to go into business for themselves, or just to make extra money, why
not direct them to the reseller page and then just purchase two units to get them
started? It's an inexpensive gift that truly will keep on giving, and will change
their life forever for the better.
Q. Who can I contact to get more information?
A. If you still have questions that weren't answered here, don't worry. You can
just visit our contact page to send us an online message,
or call us toll-free at (888) 366-EASE. We'll be glad to help!
